Joan Mir wins again to claim title in Australia

Spaniard Joan Mir has won the Moto3 World Championship in dramatic fashion at the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island.

The Spaniard came into this afternoon’s race just needing to finish ahead of Romano Fenati Moto3 Grand Prix and despite the drama we’ve become accustomed to in Moto3, Mir found himself in the right place at the right time once again to claim victory as rain-forced red flags were waved.

With rain coming down just after the pivotal two thirds distance, the red flag was waved and with victory, Mir was crowned World Champion, with Leopard team-mate Livio Loi claiming second place ahead of Jorge Martin.
