Valentino Rossi wins opening MotoGP in Qatar!

Nine-times World Champion Valentino Rossi has won the season opening MotoGP round under the floodlights in the Losail International Circuit, ahead of factory Ducati duo Andrea Dovizioso and Andrea Iannone. 

The Movistar Yamaha rider came out of a thrilling four way battle on top, defeating the two resurgant factory Ducati’s of Andrea Dovizioso and Andrea Iannone, as well as team-mate Jorge Lorenzo.

World Champion Marc Marquez had a tough evening, finishing in fifth position, after fighting back from being stone dead last after being pushed off track in the first corner. Marquez’ team mate Dani Pedrosa was sixth ahead of top sattelite bike Cal Crutchlow.

Hector Barbera was top open class bike in fifteenth, claiming the last world championship point.
