Espargaro fastest in Jerez…again
Pol Espargaro has left the final pre season test in Jerez the fastest Moto2 rider.
Over the past four days and ten practice sessions, the combined fastest rider was Spaniard and title favourite Pol Espargaro.
Espargaro posted the best lap over the rest of the field during yesterday’s mid-day session, that lap was a 1’42.636, and he was also also the quickest rider in today’s final brief session, however he was unable to match yesterdays time.
Despite not taking to the track today, Italtrans Racing Team’s Takaaki Nakagami and Julian Simon posted lap times that were good enough to give then second and third overall in the whole test, respectively.
Toni Elías was fourth fastest, and was just ahead of Scott Redding, who was the fastest rider after the first two days in southern Spain.
Espargaro’s team mate, Tito Rabat was the sixth fastest on his Tuenti HP 40 but was only 0.014s faster than Aspar’s Moto2 riders Nico Terol and Jordi Torres.
Xavier Simeon and Mika Kallio were ninth and tenth respectively, and ended the test just over a second from Espargaro’s fastest time of the test.
