Lukas Pesek confirmed as IODA rider

The Czech rider Lukas Pesek has been confirmed alongside Danilo Petrucci in the IODA MotoGP team for 2013, riding Suter-BMW’s.

The former Moto2 ride, and 125 race winner, was tipped to join the Italian team  and the 27 year old is happy to be back in the Grand Prix paddock.

“I am very happy for this opportunity. I have to thank Giampiero Sacchi with whom I have great memories from my years in 125. To take part in MotoGP is not an easy challenge. You race the best riders in the world , and is a big step for me, but I will give my best to get the best possible results, ” said Pesek.

“For Lukas, this is definitely a welcome return, said Sacchi Terni, team manager. “He and his team have written beautiful pages in the history of the Derbi in the 125cc class. But here awaits a tough challenge, but I’m sure he has the qualities to do well in the class. ”

With the confirmation of Pesek it has taken the total of CRT machines up to twelve, and 24 in MotoGP in total. Along with these four wild cards have also been confirmed to race in 2013.
