Casey Stoner completes first day of testing in Sepang
Retired two-time MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner has completed his first day of testing for HRC in Sepang today.
Stoner, who is taking part in more exclusive tests for HRC this season, was in action for the first time in over six months this morning when he was in action around the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, his first test for HRC outside of Japan.
The 2007 and 2011 World Champion has been tasked with helping develop this seasons RC213V, the bike which Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa will be riding this season, as well as working on a bike with Michelin tyres ahead of the 2016 switch to the French tyres.
The 27-year-old was joined by a select group of HRC mechanics ahead of next weeks first test, but his former crew chief Christian Gabbarini was on hand to assist Stoner during the first day of his test. Stoner will be in action tomorrow, testing the new tyres in the second day of the two day test.
No times were released, as to be expected from the private Honda test, but I think we can all safely assume, Stoner will’ve been very quick!
Had a good test today, didn’t get the number of laps that I would have liked but still got some decent data. pic.twitter.com/FUKHWPpOOW
