Lorenzo, Vettel and Doohan all in ROC Group
Two-time MotoGP World Champion Jorge Lorenzo has been pitted against three-time Formula 1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel and five-time 500cc World Champion Mick Doohan in this weekends Race of Champions.
The Race of Champions which is being hosted in the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok, this weekend pits stars from both 2 and 4 wheels against champions past and present in a variety of machines over a stadium race track.
The Race of Champions which is celebrating its 25th anniversary consists of 4 groups, with the winner of each group going through to semi finals and a final.
Some of the vehicles on display this weekend include the Audi R8, VW Scirocco, Toyota GT86 and Lamborghini Gallardo, KTM X-Bow, besides their ROC car designed for this race.
After individual racing on Saturday, Sunday sees racers team up and race in the nation competition in which Lorenzo will be part of the All Stars team to be partnered by Tom Kristensen. Defending champions Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel will be in other group to Lorenzo’s All Star team.
