Rain interupts Stoner’s return
Casey Stoner’s MotoGP ‘return’ was cut short today due to inclement weather today in Japan.
The two time MotoGP world Champion is in Japan with HRC to test, and help develop the 2014 RC213V and the new Honda RC Production racer, however his test was cut short to just six laps today as rain fell in Motegi.
However unfortunately for Stoner and Honda, the Australian only managed laps on the 2013 bike, which was planned for the morning session to help him get used after nine months away, with the plan to test the new 2014 prototype in the afternoon.
“It was good to get back on the bike, if only for a few laps!” Said Stoner.
“We only managed to get one run in before the rain arrived which was a little disappointing. It was really nice to get that first run, it’s been nine months since I’ve been on a bike and it’s going to take me some time to get used to everything again!
“The bike and the track felt good and I hope that we can get some better testing in tomorrow with some dry track time and run some more laps.”
Stoner will hopefully be back in action tomorrow where he will continue to give the new bikes the run down, before another two day test before the end of the season.
